The Sindh Education Department has taken a big initiative regarding the increasing illiteracy rate in Pakistan. According to the sources, it has been decided to change the five thousand closed schools in the province from their semi-code to new upgraded elementary schools to accommodate and facilitate children to the best of their abilities.
Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah said that the schools will soon be upgraded and the most suitable areas will be selected for them.
Until now, there were only 3 thousand elementary schools for 35 thousand primary students in Sindh. Children after passing grade 5 would either cease getting an education or move to other cities if they were not accommodated in the schools in their locality. With the Sindh government finally taking an initiative for children deprived of the basic right to education, hopes are now high for the children to aim big.
