Women will be joining the armed forces in Saudi Arabia for the very first time in history. 225 women have completed training in this regard.
According to Saudi media, the decision regarding women joining the army was taken in February 2022. The same year in September, 225 female officers graduated from the Armed Forces Women Cadre Training Center.
The female officers have completed specialization courses in Hajj and Umrah security in addition to Diplomatic Security to serve in varied departments and are now fully prepared to perform the duties.
On the completion of the women’s training and graduation, a ceremony was held with the support of the Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud and the Director of Public Security Lt. Gen. Muhammad Al-Bassami.
Good wishes were expressed for women officers in the event. The speakers said that now is the time for women on every front of the country to stand up to the leaden wall.
It should be noted that under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has taken many revolutionary steps in which women have been given special importance.
