Fox cricket, an Australian news outlet, posted an unverified and baseless story about Pakistan cricket team skipper Babar Azam.
The publication accused the skipper of sending explicit texts to his teammate’s girlfriend. However, after being slammed by the PCB for posting baseless stories, the news outlet has now deleted the story.
Taking to Twitter, PCB issued a statement from its official Twitter account that read, “As our media partner, you might have considered ignoring such unsubstantiated personal allegations which Babar Azam has not deemed worthy of a response,”
The story alleged that Babar Azam had sent explicit and immoral photographs to his teammate’s girlfriend and promised her that her boyfriend wouldn’t be out of the team if she continued on that streak.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam has been caught up in a bizarre internet scandal, falsely accused of sending below the belt texts to a teammate’s girlfriend after videos and voice recordings went viral online. The Pakistan cricket team captain has not commented on the allegations yet.
