A 5-day lockdown has been imposed in North Korea’s capital due to a mysterious respiratory illness. According to the World News Agency, a complete lockdown was imposed for 5 days in Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, instructing citizens to keep track of their body temperatures throughout the day.
The government, without naming the corona virus, claimed that a respiratory disease is spreading rapidly. Citizens should therefore confine themselves to their homes for the next five days.
After the announcement of the implementation of the lockdown, a large number of citizens went to the markets to buy essential items, forming long, chaotic, crowded queues. Citizens in North Korea have stored enough food items to get them through a longer period of time if the lockdown is extended.
It should be noted that North Korea sealed its borders at the beginning of the covid pandemic and declared itself safe from the virus. However, the first case of Corona in the region was confirmed last year, which they claimed to control by August of the same year.
