Netflix is bringing the password sharing outside the home trend to an end, which will be implemented by the end of April this year. According to the announcement of the streaming service, if a user desires to use the service outside the home, he will have to pay extra.
In some states of the US, people are charged 2-3 dollars extra if they watch Netflix outside their dwellings or if they share a password, as a trial. Many people have canceled their subscriptions ever since.
Netflix had announced a crackdown on password-sharers in July last year, and over a decade, Netflix lost nearly two million subscribers in the 2022 quarter. According to Netflix, widespread password sharing is depriving it of the opportunity to invest in improving its service.
