Peshawar is under attack again. At Least 42 died and 142 were wounded, including police personnel, in a suicide bombing inside a mosque in the Police Lines while prayers were being held in the north-western city of Pakistan.
According to the police the suicide bomber was in the front row of the mosque and blew himself up during prayers causing the roof of the mosque to collapse.
The loud sound from the high intensity explosion could be heard far and wide. Some of the injured are said to be in a critical condition and have been shifted to the Lady Reading hospital in Peshawar.
The Health Department has announced a medical emergency throughout the district of Peshawar in the wake of the blast. All the doctors and support staff have been directed to remain on red alert to cope with casualties.
