A brother of the Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) slain commander, Omar Khalid Khorasani, claimed that today’s suicide attack in Peshawar that targeted the police is part of the revenge attacks series for his brother who was killed last August in Afghanistan.
The suicide bomber, named as Huzaifa, age 25, was a member of TTP who detonated a 7 kg explosive-laden jacket, killing dozens of people. The militant organization further stated that it is not the end, the attacks will continue.
Omar Khalid Khorasani, who carried a bounty of 10 million on his head, died on August 7, 2022 in Barmal, Afghanistan. He was a considered a top member and one of the founding members of Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP). In 2014, he formed his own splinter militant group called Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA) and was ousted by the Taliban Mullah Fazlullah.
How dead in the heart can a human being be to massacre people and openly claim to be responsible for it? How weak of a country can it be that, despite knowing the culprits, can do nothing to incarcerate the ruthless? Peshawar, a city that has seen bloodshed and massacres for years, has been hit the hardest by bombings blamed on militants.
