Iran has announced new punishments for women who do not wear hijab. Women in Iran who leave the house without a hijab will be deprived of all social services until they pay a fine under new penalties.
According to the international news organization, it has been decided to send text messages to women who do not wear hijab in Iran instead of arresting them. If, in response, a woman insists on not wearing it, she will be fined.
The identity cards will be confiscated and all social services of the government will be suspended for women who fail to pay the fine and may not benefit from any welfare program of the government until it is paid.
It should be noted that soon a law is being introduced in Iran under which it will be mandatory to wear hijab in public places and women who violate it will be connected to the monitoring system.
It should be noted that 4 months ago, a young Kurdish girl, Mehsa Amini, was arrested for not wearing the hijab properly and died due to alleged torture in custody. Nationwide protests have been ongoing ever since, which Iran claims are triggered and supported by western sources.
