During the hearing of the NAB amendment case in the Supreme court, Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandyal stated that the court regrets the decision it made in the past. Imran Khan was only one prime minister in the history of Pakistan who was considered honest. The government of an honest prime minister was abolished under Article 58, he added.
According to the CJP, all the problems in the country can be solved only through the decision of the general public – the general elections.
Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial stated that it had been 8 months since the establishment of the present government. Although the Election Commission had said in the Speaker Rowling’s case that it would be holding general elections in November 2022, it did not.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court remarked that the petitioner Imran Khan, who has challenged the NAB amendments, is not an ordinary person. He has a massive support of the people even though he is not in the government.
