While the government is observing an austerity scheme to control the economic crisis, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Ruet-e-Hilal Committee reportedly set to feast on scrumptious food after sighting the Ramadan crescent.
According to reports, the provincial moon sighting body had reportedly floated a tender, inviting quotations from different reputed caterers to arrange a hi-end menu for its meeting that will be held at Auqaf Office Complex, Eidgah, Charsadda Road, Peshawar, on 22nd of March.
Following a backlash received after the notice and the menu went viral, the relevant ministry withdrew it within hours. Shah, who also holds the portfolio of religious affairs and Auqaf, directed his ministry to ensure that it is “very cautious of the fact that austerity measures should be taken in all respects of expenditures spent from the public exchequer”.
