According to a report, the UAE Transport Center has announced that it is introducing Tesla’s electric vehicles as taxis, a step towards protecting the environment. However, clarification about the number of taxis has yet to be given.
About 50 percent of taxis are electric or hybrid. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that taxis in the UAE would also be painted green.
Shaikh Sultan Majid Hamad Al Qasimi, Managing Director of Arab Taxi Transportation, stated that there is no doubt that the step will appeal to taxi users in the emirate and help improve service quality.
It should be noted that the announcement of the launch of Tesla vehicles comes at a time when workshops, events, and interactive activities are being held at various locations in Abu Dhabi from March 8 to 17.
