Justice Musrat Hilali is to become the first woman Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court. According to the seniority list, Hilali will take the oath on April 1st after the current Chief Justice Qaiser Rasheed retires on March 30.
Justice Musarat Hilali obtained her law degree from Khyber Law College, Jamia Peshawar and started practicing law in 1983. She became an advocate of the High Court in 1988 and the Supreme Court in 2006.
Based on her exemplary performance and skills, Hilali was appointed as a High Court Judge in 2013. She was also the first female Ombudsman and Chairperson of the Environmental Protection Tribunal of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The to be CJ Peshawar High court has also been the first woman Additional Advocate General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the first woman executive member of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
