Multan Sultans lost to Lahore Qalandars in the final of Pakistan Super League 8 played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. Sultans made 199 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets in pursuit of the target. Riley Russo scored 52 runs for the Sultans. Captain Mohammad Rizwan 34, Khushdil Shah 25, Tim David 20, Kieron Pollard 19, and Usman Khan made 18 runs.
On behalf of Qalandars, captain Shaheen Shah Afridi took 4 wickets, Rashid Khan 2 wickets, and David Wiese 1 wicket.
Earlier, by winning the toss and batting first, Lahore Qalandars scored 200 runs. Qalandars lost 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, Abdullah Shafiq scored 65 runs on behalf of Qalandars. Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for 39 and Mirza Baig scored 30 runs. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi played an unbeaten inning of 44 runs off 15 balls with the help of 5 sixes and 2 fours.
On behalf of Multan Sultans, Osama Mir took 3 wickets. Whereas Anwar Ali, Ehsanullah, and Khushdal Shah took 1 wicket each.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, captain of Lahore Qalandars, was awarded the best player award for taking 44 runs off 15 balls and bowling 4 wickets.
