The Crescent of Ramadan has been sighted. The holy month of fasting will hence officially begin in Pakistan on Thursday.
The announcement was made after a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee for sighting the crescent of the holy month of Ramadan was set to take place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the Met Office’s prediction of a less chance of a moon sighting due to cloudy weather.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad chaired the meeting at the Auqaf Hall, Peshawar, while the zonal moon-sighting committee will also meet at the same venue, which was decided to create consensus on the Ramadan moon matter.
