A man in China took somewhat cruel measures and forced his 11-year-old son to play video games for 17 hours straight until he cried and pledged to limit his screen time.
The father, who was worried about his child’s being addicted to video games, saw his son playing on his phone at 1:30 in the night, despite repeated prohibitions and explanations.
The man, named Huang, got his son out of bed and asked him to sit in a chair and instructed him to continue playing video games. Within a few hours, the child became tired, sleepy, and hungry but the father did not let him move until the child began to vomit due to hunger and fatigue. The son apologized to the father and promises not to play video games before bed.
Huang also made a short video of the incident and uploaded it on social media, which received mixed reactions from users. Some called the father’s action cruel, while others called it necessary.
