The caretaker government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued a crucial directive, impacting the development budget for the next four months. In a letter sent by the Development and Planning Department to all administrative departments, it has been emphasized that no new projects will be included in the upcoming financial year’s 4-month development budget. Instead, the focus will be on prioritizing the salaries of employees across all ongoing development projects.
To ensure the smooth functioning and timely completion of critical projects, the Development and Planning Department has directed that the majority of funds should be allocated to schemes that are near completion. This strategic decision aims to avoid any disruptions and guarantee the regular payment of salaries, which is vital for the successful implementation of these projects.
Moreover, the department has stressed the significance of giving priority to ongoing projects funded by aid organizations and the public sector development program. By prioritizing these initiatives during the budget preparation, the government aims to secure the necessary funds and prevent any hindrances in their execution.
The development program departments have been called for a review meeting on Monday, where the proposed projects and their budgets will be thoroughly examined. This meeting will enable the caretaker government to assess the progress, make necessary adjustments, and ensure effective allocation of resources.
