Water Crisis Worsens in Hayatabad, Peshawar
Drinking water scarcity has reached a critical level in Peshawar, with each passing day exacerbating the situation. The residents of Hayatabad Phase 6 are now forced to endure the agonizing wait for every precious drop of water, as purchasing water from tankers has become their new norm. Despite repeated complaints to the authorities, the pleas of the residents have fallen on deaf ears. In a desperate attempt to alleviate their dire situation, the residents of Hayatabad Phase 6 resorted to arranging a water tanker from Jamrud Tehsil, located in the Khyber District, at a cost of Rs.3,000, to cater to the needs of their local mosque. However, this temporary solution highlights the underlying issue plaguing Hayatabad and other parts of Peshawar: the lack of effective water management and planning.
Citizens Demand Urgent Action and a Permanent Solution
The water crisis in various phases of Peshawar, particularly Hayatabad, has reached alarming proportions, leaving its residents in a state of desperation. Despite the gravity of the situation, the relevant authorities, including the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), have failed to provide any substantial relief or respond to the grievances of the citizens. The frustrated residents now appeal to the provincial government to step in and find a permanent solution to the persistent water supply problem. The failure to address this critical issue could potentially ignite public unrest, as the people might be left with no choice but to take to the streets in protest against the authorities’ negligence.
