British Airways, the renowned British aerospace company, has introduced a groundbreaking uniform for their flight attendants, featuring an innovative option for hijabs. According to global news sources, British Airways has unveiled their new uniform after a span of 20 years, with the design crafted by Ozwald Boateng. The uniform exudes modernity and dignity, capturing attention worldwide.
The new uniform incorporates a fusion of traditional navy blue and vibrant red, creating a mesmerizing blend. Both men’s suits and women’s attire, including dresses, skirts, trousers, and contemporary jumpsuits, share this captivating color scheme. For men, the uniform includes a three-piece suit, while women have a variety of designs to choose from, allowing them to select one according to their preference. Notably, the options for women also include the inclusion of hijabs, providing them with more choices.
Furthermore, it is important to note that wearing a hijab is not mandatory. Air hostesses have the freedom to decide whether to wear a hijab or not, allowing them the liberty to make their own choices.
In the initial phase, engineers and ground staff will be the first to don the new uniform, followed by cabin crew, pilots, and check-in agents.
After the introduction of the new uniform, the previous uniform, designed by Julien McDonald, will be either donated or recycled to create items such as toys and tablet holders, with some pieces being preserved in the airline’s museum.
