In a heart-wrenching incident at the Lwari Tunnel on Broadm Road in Chitral, a double-cabin vehicle tragically veered off the road, leading to the loss of 8 lives and leaving 12 injured. The incident unfolded as the ill-fated vehicle, carrying 25 passengers, including men, women, and children, was en route from Dotomal to Chitral when it careened into a deep ravine due to brake failure near Ashiret Broadm.
As news of the accident reached the authorities, the police and rescue teams rushed to the scene without delay. The lifeless bodies and wounded individuals were swiftly transported to the District Headquarters Hospital in Drosh, Chitral.
According to rescue officials, 5 individuals lost their lives instantly at the scene, while 15 sustained injuries. Although the injured were promptly taken to the hospital, sadly, three more lives could not be saved. The spokesperson for the rescue operation revealed that among the deceased were three children and three women, identified as Halima Bibi, Marwa Bibi, Hakimullah, Abdullah, Rahman Sana, Daim Khan, Rukhsana, and Gul Bibi. Among the injured were Zia-ud-Din, his wife, two children, and other family members.
