In Bajaur, students of community schools are facing dire circumstances as they lack basic facilities such as classrooms, roofs, walls, and other amenities. The students of Tehsil Nawagai Loui Goni have been forced to seek education beneath the shade of trees. With over 6,000 students enrolled in community schools in Bajaur, the District Education Officer states that the lack of resources is a pressing concern.
Responsibility for providing essential facilities to students lies with the Education Foundation, but it seems they have fallen short of their obligations. While these projects were initially under the federal government, they now operate under the administration of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Education. Bajaur alone has 110 such schools, yet the education department has failed to allocate any funds for their improvement.
This dire situation calls for urgent attention from authorities to ensure a conducive learning environment for these underprivileged students. The future of these students should not be compromised due to the lack of basic infrastructure.
