Pakistan has expressed its disapproval of the joint statement issued by the United States and India, stating that it contains misleading references and unilateral narratives.
In response to the US-India joint statement discussing matters related to Pakistan, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has raised concerns. The statement demanded that Pakistan take action against organizations targeting India and ensure that its territory is not used for terrorism. Pakistan finds the references made in the joint statement unnecessary and one-sided.
The spokesperson highlighted that the joint references by the US and India contradict diplomatic norms and are politically motivated. It is surprising that despite ongoing counter-terrorism cooperation with the United States and close cooperation against Pakistan’s own counter-terrorism efforts, such references were included. Accusing Pakistan of any involvement in terrorism is entirely incorrect.
The spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan has made unparalleled sacrifices in the war against terrorism. Our institutions and armed forces have set a remarkable example by offering their lives in implementing our laws. The people of Pakistan are the true heroes of this war. The international community has repeatedly acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. It has been recognized over an extended period that terrorism can be defeated through joint and cooperative measures.
The spokesperson also stated that apart from being a major victim of terrorism, India has a habit of utilizing the bogey of terrorism to divert attention from its own illegal and oppressive actions in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and its mistreatment of minorities. The transfer of advanced military technologies by India raises deep concerns.
Pakistan maintains that a peaceful resolution of conflicts, respect for human rights, and regional stability are essential for building lasting peace. It is crucial to address security concerns through dialogue, cooperation, and a shared understanding of the complex dynamics of the region.
