Pakistan lodges a protest with the US Deputy Ambassador over the joint statement issued by President Biden and Prime Minister Modi during the latter’s visit to the United States.
On June 22, in their joint statement, India and the US had demanded that Pakistan take action against organizations targeting India and ensure that its territory is not used for terrorist activities.
The Pakistani Foreign Office has vehemently protested against the joint statement issued during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the US and summoned the US Deputy Chief of Mission on Monday evening to convey its strong objections regarding the forthcoming joint statement between the US and India, scheduled for June 22, 2023.
The protest letter highlights Pakistan’s concerns and frustrations over the unnecessary, one-sided, and misleading references to Pakistan in the joint statement by India and the US.
Pakistan has emphasized that the US should refrain from issuing statements that support India’s baseless and politically motivated allegations against Pakistan.
Furthermore, Pakistan has underscored that cooperation in countering terrorism between Pakistan and the US is progressing well, and that a conducive environment of trust and understanding is essential to further strengthen Pak-US relations.
