In response to widespread user complaints about difficulties accessing data on Twitter, the platform’s CEO, Elon Musk, has introduced temporary restrictions to address the issue.
Musk stated in a recent tweet that Twitter users worldwide were facing challenges in accessing recent data. As a result, unverified Twitter accounts will now be limited to reading 300 to 500 posts per day, while verified accounts will have the ability to read up to 6,000 posts within a 24-hour period.
In his weekly message, Musk explained that Twitter is implementing these measures to combat “extensive” data scraping and system manipulation. The platform wants to ensure that different accounts are limited in the number of tweets they can read each day.
Musk further revealed that initially, verified accounts were limited to reading 6,000 posts per day, while unverified accounts could read up to 600 posts daily. New unverified accounts will now only have access to 300 tweets per day.
While Musk did not provide further details, he mentioned in a separate tweet that these temporary limitations on reading tweets will be followed by future changes. Verified users will have a limit of 10,000 posts per day, unverified users will have access to 1,000 posts per day, and new unverified users will be able to read up to 500 posts daily.
This announcement by Elon Musk has left Twitter users emotionally engaged, with many wondering how these restrictions will impact their ability to engage with the platform and stay connected with the latest information.
