Anju, a 34-year-old mother of two from India, embarked on a life-changing journey to a remote village in Pakistan. Her voyage led her to embrace Islam, adopt the name Fatima, and marry her Pakistani Facebook friend Nasrullah. The extraordinary story of their union unfolded on 25th July, amid tight security and emotional intensity.
Anju and Nasrullah’s digital friendship began on Facebook back in 2019. Little did they know that their virtual connection would blossom into something far more profound. Fate intervened, drawing Anju to the Upper Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where she sought refuge at Nasrullah’s home.
In a local court presided by a district and sessions judge, the couple formalized their bond. Anju’s conversion to Islam paved the way for their nikkah, witnessed by family members, police personnel, and lawyers. Renamed Fatima, the Indian woman expressed her genuine happiness and willingness to be in Pakistan.
The couple’s love story continued to capture hearts as they embarked on a sightseeing trip, their joy evident in pictures taken at picturesque tourist spots. Amid all the happiness, Fatima addressed concerns from back home in a video, assuring her loved ones that she had made a conscious and legal decision to embrace her new life in Pakistan.
Born in Uttar Pradesh and residing in Rajasthan, Fatima had a life in India before this unexpected chapter. Married to Arvind and blessed with a daughter and son, she crossed borders legally through the Wagah-Attari border with a 30-day visa, specifically granted for Upper Dir.
While the world marvels at this extraordinary love story, one thing remains evident: love knows no boundaries. Fatima and Nasrullah’s union is a testament to the unpredictable and captivating nature of human connections.
