In the past four days, heavy rainfall and landslides in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have resulted in the loss of 15 lives, while 14 others have been injured. The government has announced to provide 10 lakh rupees to the families of those who lost their lives in these incidents.
According to the report by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), 83 houses have been partially damaged, and 12 houses have been completely destroyed across the province due to floods and heavy rainfall.
Secretary Relief, Abdul Basit, has directed the immediate disbursal of relief compensation to the affected individuals according to policy guidelines.
He stated that 6 crore rupees have been released for the affected districts to cope with the aftermath of floods and landslides.
PDMA’s spokesperson, Tamur Ali, mentioned that the families of the deceased will receive 10 lakh rupees as compensation. Furthermore, severely injured individuals will be given 2 to 3 lakh rupees, while moderately injured individuals will receive 50,000 rupees.
In the event of natural disasters, houses with two or more rooms destroyed will be compensated with 2 lakh rupees, whereas houses with a single room damaged will receive 1 lakh rupees.
Additionally, for houses with just one room partially damaged, 80,000 rupees will be provided, and if a house loses all four walls in the calamity, the compensation will be 50,000 rupees.
