The highly anticipated clash between Pakistan and India in the upcoming One-Day Cricket World Cup has been rescheduled for October 14. Possibilities of further changes in the World Cup schedule are still looming, with an official announcement expected on July 31.
According to reports in the Indian media, last week, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had indicated the possibility of adjustments in the World Cup schedule, as requested by three boards, including ICC.
Shah stated that only the dates and timings of matches would be altered to allow for a 4-5 day buffer. However, the announcement about the adjustment request made by certain ICC members was not made by the BCCI Secretary.
He clarified that three members had written to ICC for schedule changes. The alteration will be limited to dates and timings, and the venues will remain unchanged. The modifications will be made in consultation with ICC, and the details will be unveiled shortly.
It’s worth noting that the decision to reschedule the Pakistan-India match in the World Cup came after local police in Ahmedabad expressed concerns about ensuring adequate security on October 15, the opening day of the stadium.
The announcement of possible schedule changes has left fans anxious, who had already made arrangements, including flight bookings and hotel reservations in Ahmedabad. The world eagerly awaits this match, and everyone is eager to witness the epic showdown.
