Yesterday, in the Takhti Khel area, a tragedy unfolded as 11 members of the same family, including children and women, were ruthlessly murdered. They were cruelly struck on the head while in their sleep, initially leading to the belief that food poisoning was the cause.
The victims were identified as landlord Amal Dar, his wife, four sons, two daughters, a daughter-in-law, a grandson, and a granddaughter. The youngest victim was just two years old.
An FIR, filed on the complaint of Omar Gul, the deceased landlord’s brother, points to Madar Khan as the perpetrator. Madar Khan, the father-in-law of one of the landlord’s daughters, had married his son a few years ago.
According to the FIR, Madar Khan, upset over his daughter-in-law leaving his son and residing with her parents, visited the landlord’s house as a guest, bringing sweets as a gift. In the night, while everyone was asleep, he wielded a sharp weapon, taking the lives of all his relatives, including his daughter-in-law, before fleeing the scene, leaving behind a horrific scene of bloodshed.
Efforts to apprehend the killer are underway, with the police forming teams and conducting raids in various areas. They have sought assistance from local elders and tribal leaders to track down the culprit. Additionally, the police have registered a case under the anti-terrorism act, recognizing the crime as motivated by personal enmity and malice.
