Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Irfan Salim has sent a series of audio messages to the president of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Ali Amin Gandapur, in which he accused him of being behind the decision to nominate a controversial candidate for the chief minister of KP.
In the audio messages, which have been leaked on social media, Salim claimed that the candidate, whose name has not been disclosed, has played a dirty game in Peshawar and has brought the city to the brink of destruction. He alleged that the candidate has been involved in various scandals, such as land grabbing, illegal construction, and nepotism.
Salim also said that he has called a meeting of his party workers at 3 pm to expose the names of the corrupt people in Peshawar. He said that he will not remain silent and will reveal the truth to the public. He said that this is not the decision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, but of Gandapur, who has betrayed the vision of PTI.
Salim’s audio messages have sparked a heated debate on social media, with many users supporting his stance and demanding accountability from the KP leadership. Some users also criticized Salim for creating a rift within the party and questioned his motives.
The PTI has not issued any official statement on the matter yet. It is not clear how the audio messages were leaked and whether they are authentic or not. The KP government has also not responded to the allegations made by Salim.
The PTI came to power in KP in 2018 with a promise of bringing a change and ending corruption. However, the party has faced several challenges and controversies in the province, such as the BRT project, the wheat crisis, and the recent Senate elections.
