Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, has declared a comprehensive and peaceful protest across the country against returning officers.
In his statement, Barrister Gohar Khan mentioned that the people of Pakistan have expressed complete confidence in the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, rejecting “slavery and subjugation”. Despite all challenges, the people came out of their homes on February 8th and bestowed a clear and transparent mandate upon PTI.
The Chairman of PTI stated that instead of accepting the people’s verdict gracefully, there is an attempt to steal their mandate once again through returning officers. There is an unacceptable effort to undermine democracy by tampering with electoral results and creating unrest.
Barrister Gohar Khan emphasized that any such attempt will not be beneficial for the country nor will the people tolerate the disrespect of their votes. Government formation by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, based on clear constitutional and democratic rights, is fundamental due to the clear majority achieved in the center, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The PTI Chairman reiterated that today, there will be widespread but highly organized and peaceful protests against the returning officers who are trying to manipulate electoral results, delay them unlawfully, and turn PTI’s clear victory into defeat.
