ISLAMABAD: After suffering defeat in both constituencies in Pakistan elections, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) Patron-In-Chief Jahangir Tareen has announced to quit politics and his party’s top slot.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, the senior politician said, “I would like to thank everyone who supported me in this election and want to offer my congratulations to my opponents. I have immense respect for the will of the people of Pakistan. Therefore, I have decided to resign from my position as Chairman IPP and step away from politics altogether.”
Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq Monday tendered his resignation from his post as the party failed to win even a single National Assembly seat during the February 9 general elections.
