Renowned for her songs like “Batiyan Bujhai Rakhdi” and “Chan Mere Makhna,” Pakistani legend Shazia Manzoor made headlines recently for accusing comedian Sherry Nanha of misconduct during a live show.
During a recent appearance on actor and host Mohsin Abbas Haider’s comedy program, the singer confronted comedian Sherry Nanha for speaking inappropriately to her in a comedic manner.
Manzoor asserted that while she had tolerated Nanha’s inappropriate jokes about her in the past, this time she took it seriously, questioning how he could speak to women in such a manner. She directly addressed Nanha, accusing him of verbal abuse and expressing her dismay at his behavior.
In response, host Mohsin Abbas Haider intervened, questioning Nanha about his repeated disrespectful behavior towards guests. He advised Nanha to stick to the script and refrain from targeting individuals with offensive remarks. Despite attempts by the host and other comedians present to diffuse the situation, Shazia Manzoor remained visibly upset, refusing to let the matter go.
Social media users have been divided in their responses to Manzoor’s actions. While some applaud her for standing up against inappropriate behavior, others believe she should have handled the situation differently and respected the comedian’s craft.
The incident highlights the importance of mutual respect and professionalism in public interactions, regardless of one’s profession or status. It also underscores the ongoing dialogue surrounding boundaries and acceptable behavior in entertainment spaces.
