Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, has appealed to America for smaller arms to bolster the success of Operation Resilience. A conference concerning Pakistan was convened by a local think tank in Washington, attended by former U.S. ambassadors to Pakistan.
Addressing the conference, Pakistani Ambassador Masood Khan emphasized the need for smaller arms from the United States to enhance the effectiveness of Operation Resilience. Meanwhile, participants in the conference discussed Pakistan-U.S. relations and heavily criticized American policies in Afghanistan.
It is noteworthy that under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, a National Action Plan apex committee meeting was held recently, approving Operation Resilience for counter-terrorism.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has opposed Operation Resilience and demanded its approval from Parliament, while Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam has also voiced its opposition to the operation.
Later, the Prime Minister’s Office clarified that no large-scale military operation is under consideration, emphasizing that Operation Resilience aims to further activate armed actions based on ongoing intelligence.
