Saudi Arabia is making significant strides in the construction of its first nuclear power plant, according to Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, the country’s Minister of Energy. The Minister emphasized that the nation is committed to continuing work on this ambitious project.
Speaking at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conference in Vienna, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman highlighted Saudi Arabia’s dedication to peaceful nuclear energy development. He assured that the country’s system and infrastructure meet all necessary international oversight requirements, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s commitment to global standards.
He further explained that Saudi Arabia is moving forward with the use of nuclear energy and its radiation applications for peaceful purposes. The national nuclear energy plan is being implemented comprehensively, with each component carefully aligned to meet the nation’s needs.
Prince Abdulaziz reiterated that this is Saudi Arabia’s first-ever nuclear energy project and will play a crucial role in shaping the country’s energy mix in accordance with international responsibilities.
