The final moments of OceanGate’s Titan submersible revealed the haunting last words from its crew: “All good here,” moments before a catastrophic implosion claimed the lives of all five on board.
The victims included OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, British explorer Hamish Harding, veteran French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet, British-Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, and his 19-year-old son Suleman.
Following the tragedy, investigators recovered debris containing “presumed human remains.” It has since been confirmed that the Titan experienced a “catastrophic implosion” due to immense underwater pressure.
On Monday, an animated reconstruction of Titan’s final journey was released, revealing how communication between the submersible and its support ship, the Polar Prince, began to falter. The crew aboard the Polar Prince sent multiple messages asking about the submersible’s status, but the responses became increasingly sporadic.
The investigation also uncovered that Titan’s hull had never been subjected to third-party testing and had been exposed to the elements for seven months, which may have played a role in the disaster.
