Two young brothers, while playing, climbed into a parked car outside their home in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Karachi. Unfortunately, the car doors locked automatically, leading to the tragic death of one brother due to suffocation, while the other was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
According to details, the incident took place in Block 19 of a private housing society within the jurisdiction of Shara-e-Faisal police station. The child who lost his life has been identified as 4-year-old Rauf, while his younger brother, 3-year-old Hassan, was rescued from the car but remains in a critical state.
Police reports reveal that the boys were siblings, and at the time of the incident, their father was not at home, while their mother was inside the house, unaware of the unfolding tragedy.
The vehicle in question, owned by a tenant, had been parked in front of the house for several months in an unusable condition. The children, likely seeking adventure, entered the car, which then became their prison.
The police have taken the car owner into custody for questioning and are investigating further to determine any negligence involved in this devastating event.
