The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced a comprehensive initiative to raise awareness about artificial intelligence (AI) among students across the province. This program aims to equip the youth with essential knowledge and skills in AI, preparing them for future technological advancements.
The initiative will encompass a series of workshops, seminars, and training sessions in educational institutions throughout KP. These events are designed to introduce students to AI concepts, applications, and the potential impact of AI on various industries.
A recent study conducted in Peshawar revealed that 61.7% of medical students lacked prior knowledge of AI. Despite this, there was a positive attitude towards integrating AI into undergraduate medical education, indicating a readiness among students to embrace technological advancements.
Similarly, research from Mardan Medical Complex highlighted that while 66% of doctors were familiar with the term AI, many were uncertain about its applications in healthcare. The study emphasized the need for increased training and exposure to AI technologies to enhance professional efficiency.
The KP government’s initiative seeks to address these gaps by providing students with hands-on experience and practical knowledge of AI. By fostering a deeper understanding of AI, the program aims to prepare the province’s youth for a future where technology plays a pivotal role in various sectors.
Educational experts have lauded this move, stating that early exposure to AI will not only enhance students’ technical skills but also encourage innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities. They believe that such initiatives are crucial for developing a technologically adept workforce capable of navigating the challenges of the modern world.
