ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the
third-party audit of Ramazan relief package.
Chairing a review meeting on Prime Minister’s Ramazan Relief
Package in Islamabad on Monday, he appreciated the efforts of the
State Bank of Pakistan, NADRA and tech companies in ensuring
transparency of the package.
The prime minister said that the Ramazan Relief Package has been
introduced across the country including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad
Jammu and Kashmir, without any discrimination.
He said payments are being made to the deserving individuals through
a highly convenient and transparent digital wallet system.
The prime minister instructed that this model should be adopted for
other government schemes as well.
The meeting was informed that about 63pc of the deserving families
have received the amount.
It was told that a total of 2,224 employees were deployed for the
Ramazan Relief Package. More than 1.5 million beneficiaries were
contacted via telephone calls.
The meeting was attended by Minister for National Food Security
Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan
Cheema, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar,
Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima, Minister for Petroleum Ali
Pervaiz Malik and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon
Akhtar.
