Charsadda: All educational institutions are to remain closed on Saturday due to by-elections on Sunday in Charsadda.
By-elections are scheduled on Sunday, October 16 in NA-24 Charsadda, NA-22 Mardan and NA-31 Peshawar constituencies.
Deputy Charsadda issued a notification on Thursday which stated that all the educational institutions in Charsadda would remain closed on Saturday.
The Deputy Commissioner ordered that the educational institutions, including Technical colleges, Commerce Colleges, and schools must observe a day off in preparation for the by-election the next day.
The materials, including the ballot papers for the elections, would be provided to the presiding officers on Saturday.
4 candidates are in the run for NA-24 Charsadda. The polling will begin at 8am and end at 5pm. Special training has been given to the presiding officers in order to conduct the election in a peaceful and effective manner.
The Provincial Election Commissioner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mohammad Farid Khattak, has requested all the voters, especially women, to come out and practice their rights without any fear or threat.
