Mardan: Primary schools closed for 2 weeks because of a land dispute in Rustam Malandri. Due to the intermittent cross firing, parents refrain from sending their children to school.
Fear among children due to periodic cross-firing between two opposing parties has resulted in a lack of attendance at Middle School Pitao Malandri and Girls Middle Suri Malandri.
Teachers and other staff members of the school are deployed for duties in Brengan and Michi, because schools have been almost empty for the past few weeks.
The helpless parents have demanded help and security for their children so that they can safely continue with their studies.
Boys and girls schools in Rustam Malandri have been closed for two weeks now. The children are scared of the cross-firing due to an ongoing territorial dispute in the area while the teachers are on duty in other schools.
An atmosphere of fear is established in the entire area after a person is killed and three are injured in a fight between Hamza Khel and Khamari Khel over a piece of land.
Government Primary School Petao Malandro and Government Primary School Ghazibanda are still closed after fourteen days. Attendance at the schools is negligible.
The parents and the guardians have appealed to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan, and Inspector General of Police, Moazzam Jah Ansari to provide security for their children. They also demanded the government to open the said schools as soon as possible.
The future of the children should not be dark. They deserve to continue their studies in a peaceful environment.
