The office of the inspector general of national police service Nairobi, Kenya, has released its press statement regarding the murder of Arshad Sharif.
The police regretfully admit to shooting the late Pakistani journalist dead in the head on October 23rd at Kwenia farm.
According to the press statement, the deceased Arshad Sharif was travelling along with his brother, Khurram Ahmed, in a motor vehicle. The police were in search of a stolen vehicle involved in the abduction of a child. The vehicle was the same as that of the deceased.
Magadi police erected a barrier as soon as they saw Arshad Sharif’s vehicle approaching towards them. Arshad Sharif drove past the barrier.
The police in return opened fire at the vehicle. The bullet crossed through Arshad’s head, killing him on the spot. Competent authorities have started investigating the matter. The authorities have also paid deep consolations to the dear ones of the deceased.
