The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia staged ‘Horror Weekend’ in Riyadh to celebrate the once-banned Halloween.
Saudi Arabia, the land of the two holy mosques that holds a significant place among Muslims, has decided to socially reform under the rule of Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman.
Various attempts are made to modernize the country, the Halloween celebration being a part of those attempts. The once-banned festival of Halloween was celebrated with great eagerness this year in Saudi Arabia. The streets of Riyadh, the capital of KSA, were crowded with people wearing spooky and creepy attires stained with blood.
The attendees told the media that they were there for fun as it was a great celebration. Moreover, they declared that they were unaware of the halal and haram of the event and that the actions were based upon intentions. The attendees further stated that they intended no harm to anyone.
Being the epitome of faith, Muslims around the world look up to Saudi Arabia for its religious practices. Will celebrating such events that go against the beliefs of Islam raise a question about the credibility of the religious establishment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia?
