An investigation has been initiated against former US President Donald Trump for the disappearance of gifts from the presidential library. According to the American media, dozens of gifts given to Donald Trump and his family by foreign leaders could not be traced.
In this regard, a committee of the House of Representatives has asked for help from the National Archives and congressional investigators. The National Archives stores presidential gifts in the presidential library. The congressional investigators and the National Archives have begun searching for these gifts.
According to reports, King Salman of Saudi Arabia gifted the Abdulaziz Al-Saud award to Donald Trump. The award is missing from the library. A valuable gift of golf equipment by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was given to Former President Donald Trump which cannot be found in the library.
Apart from that, the 2018 World Cup football gifted by the Russian President Putin, a golden statue of an ancient Egyptian god gifted by the Egyptian President, and a large painting by the President of El Salvador are missing from the presidential library.
Furthermore, a rare autographed photograph of Queen Elizabeth II, a statue of Mahatma Gandhi, Afghan Dari, a crystal ball and clothes donated by Oman are also unaccounted for in the library.
The value of these gifts given to former President Trump is more than 50 thousand dollars. Efforts are now being made to find out whether Donald Trump deposited the gifts in the presidential library or took them with him.
Former President Donald Trump is also facing an investigation into allegations of negligence over the classified document issue. During its operation, the FBI recovered several important documents related to China and Iran from the former president’s Mar-a-Lago residence.
