South Waziristan: Ragzai Police Station in Lower Wana, Burmal District, Waziristan, was attacked by unidentified armed men in the middle of the night on Tuesday. The attack left two policemen dead and two severely injured. Lower Wana is a tribal district that lies in the South of Waziristan.
According to the details, unidentified armed persons attacked the police station on the Pak-Afghan border road in Ragzai. As a result of the cowardly attack, two policemen were martyred and two officials were injured. The attackers also set the police van on fire.
The police have also confirmed that the attackers took the weapons used by the police with them. Among the martyrs were two police officials, Hameedullah and Farmanullah. No acceptance of the tragic incident of the brutal attack has yet been received by any group of militants.
According to police sources, unknown armed persons also took police weapons with them. The attack on police officials is not something new to the people of Waziristan, especially Wana. Many officers were martyred and injured in attacks in the past.
The political and social circles of the area have expressed deep regret over the barbaric incident. They also demanded the restoration of peace and order in the area.
