The government of Pakistan has dropped another bomb on the underprivileged population of the country. The depleting economic situation of Pakistan is getting out of hand and the poor are the sole target of the crisis.
In addition to the growing inflation, the government of Pakistan has decided to increase taxes on the thrift imports in ‘Landa Bazars’ to 300 percent. The people, who could not afford the luxury of buying new clothes, opted for thrift stores that were quite easy on the pocket. However, after the imposition of the taxes, imported used goods such as sweaters, warm garments, blankets, toys, shoes, and jackets will cost much more than they ever did.
Consequently, the traders of Landa Bazar have threatened to shut down their shops against the increase in taxes. They demand the government withdraw the taxes imposed on imported goods.
Rather than cutting the budget allocated for defense and government expenditures, the current government has decided to skin alive the underprivileged population of the country. Deprived of the fundamental necessities, the less fortunate lot of the country are being tortured daily. Basic items such as food, gas, electricity, and now clothing have been made beyond the reach of the poor. The country is being pushed into a deep dark abyss and there is no one to question the atrocities of those in power.
