The leader of the notorious DJ group along with 2 accomplices who committed robberies in houses, bungalows, petrol pumps, shops, and roads and have killed people if they resisted have been arrested in Karachi.
According to the spokesperson of Karachi Police, the arrested accused have been identified as Hunain, Sohail Doctor, and Sohail Bangash. The arrest of the accused was carried out with the help of technical grounds and CCTV.
According to the police, the accused robbed a grocery store in New Karachi Sector 11-E on December 28, 2022, and fled after firing on resistance. The accused were trying to escape after the incident when the rickshaw driver accidentally hit their motorcycle. Sohail Bangash and Sohail Doctor shot the driver and left him with serious injuries. During the investigation, the accused said that when they shot the rickshaw driver, they were drunk.
Of the many robbery attempts, the alleged accused once entered the shop of Al-Tawkal Biryani in New Karachi police station. Doctor and Bangash escaped after stealing a 9 mm licensed pistol, mobile phone, and money. They have further confessed to the looting more than 10 shops and medical stores from the limits of New Karachi. The accused claim to provide all the facilities including weapons, motorcycles, and other items to the gang leader Hunain.
Accused Sohail admitted that he had given more than 200 mobile phones stolen during the incidents to Hunain for which he paid him. Hunain would change the IMEI number of the mobile and sell it in the shops at a good price.
Accused Sohail further stated that Hunain runs three to four groups of dacoits. He gives weapons and motorcycles to all of them and takes his share later. In the guise of security personnel, they also have robbed many houses and bungalows by barging into them. Upon resistance, they killed many people too.
According to the police, the leader of the group, Hunain, was directly involved in dozens of incidents along with his associates in District Central New Karachi Division, including robbing petrol pumps, restaurants, general stores, medical stores, and hotels. CCTV footage of one of the incidents where they robbed a petrol pump went viral on social media too.
