Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan expressed his concern on Wednesday as he revealed that the police had surrounded his house in Lahore’s Zaman Park.
In what could be his final tweet before his anticipated arrest, Khan shared the alarming news with his followers on his official Twitter handle. The development comes in the wake of a series of events that unfolded recently, starting with Imran Khan’s previous apprehension by paramilitary Rangers, which was later deemed invalid and unlawful by the Supreme Court.
PTI Supporters Engage in Vandalism and Arson Following Imran Khan’s Arrest
In a disturbing display of violence and destruction, supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party unleashed chaos in response to the arrest of their leader, Imran Khan. The historic Corps’ Commander’s House, also known as Jinnah House, became a target for the enraged protesters, resulting in severe damage to the iconic building. Images and videos circulating on social media depicted the extent of the devastation, with rooms, halls, and even the valuable wooden structure of the residence being set ablaze.
Furthermore, the adjacent 130-year-old building of the Military Engineering Services fell victim to the chaos, as valuable records, furniture, and vehicles were set on fire. The aftermath of the widespread rioting and protests led to the arrest of several prominent PTI leaders, including Fawad Chaudhry, Asad Umar, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Dr Yasmeen Rashid, Shireen Mazari, Maleeka Bukhari, and Fayyazul Hassan Chauhan.
