The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the schedule for the much-anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
According to the ICC, the One-Day International tournament will take place from October 5th to November 19th.
The opening match will be played between defending champions England and New Zealand in Ahmedabad, India.
Pakistan will play their first match on October 6th against qualifiers Vanuatu in Hyderabad, while the traditional clash between Pakistan and India is set for October 15th in Ahmedabad.
Despite objections, the Pakistan vs. Australia and Pakistan vs. Afghanistan matches remained scheduled in Ahmedabad, as demanded by Pakistan to change the venues.
It is worth mentioning that the unveiling of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 trophy took place uniquely in the sky last year, with a helicopter lifting the trophy to a height of 120,000 feet before descending at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
After traveling across the globe, the trophy will return to the host nation on September 4th. The unveiling ceremony in Pakistan is scheduled from July 31st to August 4th.
