Pakistani star Nimra Bucha continues to make waves internationally as she adds yet another feather to her cap with her latest role in an upcoming project. Bucha has been confirmed to appear in the adaptation of Agatha Christie’s ‘Murder Is Easy,’ as announced by Variety. Having previously starred in acclaimed works like ‘Polite Society’ and ‘Ms. Marvel,’ Bucha will now portray the character of Mrs. Humbleby in the highly anticipated series.
Joining Bucha in the cast are renowned talents from the industry, including David Jonsson from ‘Industry’ and ‘Rye Lane,’ Morfydd Clark from ‘Lord of the Rings,’ and Penelope Wilton from ‘Downton Abbey.’ The adaptation, produced by BBC and Britbox International, has recently commenced filming in Scotland, with Jonsson taking on the lead role of Fitzwilliam.
Set in 1954 England, the gripping story follows Fitzwilliam’s encounter with Miss Pinkerton (played by Wilton) on a train, who warns him about a serial killer on the loose in the tranquil village of Wychwood under Ashe. While the locals dismiss the deaths as accidents, Miss Pinkerton is convinced otherwise. Tragically, she is found dead on her way to Scotland Yard. Determined to apprehend the killer before they strike again, Fitzwilliam embarks on a perilous mission to uncover the truth.
The thrilling two-part series will also feature Morfydd Clark as Bridget, Sinead Matthews as Miss Waynflete, Tom Riley as Lord Whitfield, and Douglas Henshall as Major Horton. Other notable cast members include Mathew Baynton as Dr. Thomas, Mark Bonnar as Reverend Humbleby, Tamzin Outhwaite as Mrs. Pierce, and Jon Pointing as Rivers. Making her screen debut, Phoebe Licorish will portray Rose.
Scripted by Siân Ejiwunmi-Le Berre and directed by Meenu Gaur, the adaptation is poised to captivate audiences worldwide. International sales for the series will be handled by Fifth Season.
