The British government has issued new guidelines regarding travel to Pakistan for its citizens. Expressing concerns over the threat of terrorist attacks, the British government has instructed its citizens to refrain from traveling to several areas, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, including Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, North Waziristan, and South Waziristan districts.
Furthermore, travel to Charsadda, Kohat, Tank, Bannu, Lakki, Dera Ismail Khan, Swat, Buner, and Lower Dir districts is also strongly discouraged. Residents of Peshawar city and the Mardan-Ring Road district, extending north to Chitral district along the N45 Road, have been advised to exercise caution while traveling.
The British government has explicitly stated that its citizens should avoid visiting any area of Pakistan except for the southern coastal region of Balochistan province. Additionally, the British government has urged its citizens to stay away from political demonstrations, citing the presence of strong anti-Western sentiments in some political rallies.
Moreover, in light of the scorching heatwave, the British government has also advised its citizens to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to avoid the severe heat.
This travel ban and the government’s comprehensive guidelines aim to ensure the safety and security of British citizens traveling to Pakistan, highlighting the prevailing security challenges in certain regions and the potential risks associated with political gatherings and extreme weather conditions.
