He Lifeng, Vice Premier of China and esteemed Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, is set to visit Pakistan from July 30 to August 1, 2023.
The Foreign Office announced that during this visit, Vice Premier He, who also serves as President Xi Jinping’s Special Envoy, will participate in the momentous 10th-anniversary celebrations of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The visit holds great importance as Vice Premier He will engage in meetings with Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, and President Arif Alvi. He Lifeng, a prominent figure in China’s international economic relations and a driving force behind the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, played a crucial role in numerous CPEC projects in Pakistan during his tenure as the chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission from 2017 to 2023.
This visit further exemplifies the strong and enduring bond between Pakistan and China, enhancing their “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.” It aims to reinforce support on core issues, boost economic and financial cooperation, and promote the high-quality development of CPEC, while also exploring new avenues for trade and investment ties.
